06.09.2023

The President of the Office of Rail Transport has signed an agreement with the Director of the Czech rail safety authority, Drážní úřad. The document sets out the principles of cooperation and coordination in the field of supervision of railway undertakings and infrastructure managers carrying out cross-border activities on railway lines connecting Poland and the Czech Republic.

The agreement signed deals in particular with issues such as safety authorisation for infrastructure managers, single safety certificates for operations to border stations of the relevant second state, authorisations for rolling stock operating to border stations of the other state, marking of vehicles, authorisations for rolling stock operating in both states beyond the cross-border lines.

On the UTK side, the agreement was signed by Ignacy Góra, President of the Office of Rail Transport, and on the Czech side by Jiří Kolář, Director of Drážní úřad.

The signing of the agreement stems from the technical pillar of the 4th railway package.
