Spring train timetable adjustment

13.03.2024

The spring adjustment of the annual train timetable comes into force on Sunday 10 March 2024. Trains according to this timetable will run until 8 June.

The spring timetable revision will bring some significant changes. Direct regional trains connecting Wrocław and Zielona Góra will return after a long break. Thanks to an agreement between regional authorities of the two voivodeships, they will be operated jointly by Koleje Dolnośląskie S.A. and POLREGIO S.A.

In Pomerania track works are completed and new sections of railway lines no. 229 and 234 are operational. As a result, from 11 March passengers will have connections with stops and stations in Gdańsk Kokoszki, Leźno, Stara Piła, Otomino and Żukowo Zachodnie. Selected trains connecting Kartuzy with Gdańsk will take the new route, which will increase the number of trains running between the two cities.

On the third Monday in March passenger services connecting two regions – Mazovia and Podlasie – will be reintroduced. Two pairs of trains will connect Ostrołęka and Białystok, enabling travel to these cities and transfers to other connections.

Additional connections will be provided for passengers commuting to Szczecin from nearby cities. Six new trains will connect Szczecin with Gryfino and four additional services will be offered to Goleniów and Stargard. Passengers will also be able to use the new Goleniów Park Przemysłowy stop, which will make it easier to travel to local industrial areas. These changes were introduced during several stages of expanding the Szczecin Metropolitan Railway.

Construction works will affect the organisation of train traffic in many places on the Polish railway network. Due to the variations in journey times, we recommend to carefully check the timetable for the specific day on which you intend to travel. Some trains may run on different routes than usual and there will also be sections of the line where it will be necessary to change to a bus service.

Any changes to a timetable should be announced at least 21 days before their entry into force on the infrastructure manager's website. Passenger stations’ managers are under obligation to publish a new timetable at least 10 days in advance to the introduction of a new timetable or timetable changes. Appropriate information should appear on posters or boards at train stations, platforms or passageways to platforms. The updated timetable should also be available on the rail carriers' websites, although the Polish law does not impose any specific publication dates.

During the 2023/2024 timetable, the infrastructure manager PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. has provided for three more adjustments related to i.a. modernisation works on different railway lines. The next timetable change is scheduled for 9 June 2024.
