Rules on quarantine for travellers (update)

28.01.2021

From Saturday, January 23, 2021, passengers arriving in Poland by public transport who test negative for SARS-CoV-2 virus are exempt from the obligation to undergo quarantine. If you are traveling to Poland by train, but you have not passed the test, you are still obliged to report to the mandatory quarantine by calling the hotline of the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate.

Passengers who come by collective transport to Poland from abroad are still obliged to undergo a 10-day quarantine. Travellers after crossing Polish border by rail are required to report this fact themselves to the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate by calling the official 24/7 hotline::

After informing the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate, the travellers are officially under a mandatory quarantine.

From January 23, persons with a negative result of SARS-CoV-2 diagnostic test performed within 48 hours prior to crossing the border are exempt from mandatory quarantine and reporting themselves to sanitary authorities. The test result (in Polish or in English) should be presented during an inspection by the Border Guard.

Rail operators which run cross-border trains are required to inform passengers about quarantine rules currently in force, also on reporting to appropriate authorities.

As per recommendation of the President of the Office of Rail Transport rail operators should provide the information on new epidemic rules via their websites as well as voice and visual messages on board of international trains. If possible this information should be prepared in at least 2 languages (in Polish and in English, German or Czech).
