Amendment to the Regulation by the Council of Ministers has allowed Polish railway carriers to resume - starting from 13 June 2020 - the operations of international connections among Schengen zone states. Operations of international trains crossing external European Union borders are still suspended.

POLREGIO has been the first carrier to take advantage of the ban lifting, as starting from 14 June it has resumed its train operations on Szczecin - Berlin and Szczecin - Lübeck routes. The carrier has also informed that from 1 July it will resume further international connections at the following routes: Zgorzelec - Görlitz, Tuplice - Forst (Lausitz), Rzepin - Frankfurt/Oder and Gorzów Wielkopolski - Berlin.

After a 3-month suspension also PKP Intercity has started to resume its international connections. First trains to Germany, Czechia and Austria have commenced on 22 June. On the following days the number of international trains will gradually rise. The regulations do not still allow for resumption of connections towards Ukraine, Belarus and Russia.

It is advised before the trip to check the current timetable, using Internet search engines for train connections, and also follow closely current announcements published at carriers' and Ministry of Foreign Affairs' websites. We remind you that on board of public transport means in Poland the passengers are still obliged to carry nose and mouth covering masks.
